Kat coaches for Hayswood Equestrian, which was founded in 2002. The riding stables have a wide range of horses & ponies for all ages and abilities. The riding school is ‘Fully Licensed’ and insured, and has experienced British Horse Society (BHS) qualified instructors and staff at all times.

For those wishing to train or school their horses at a more advanced level, Kat competes at advanced medium level dressage and trains above this. She has competed in Eventing and Showjumping to 120cm and trained riders competing to this level.
If you wish to get back to riding after a break (no matter how long this has been), lessons can be arranged on the awesome horses and ponies at Hayswood Equestrian.
Understanding how nerves and confidence affect your riding ability, Kat is well-placed and experienced in supporting nervous riders. With an empathetic, considered and encouraging coaching style, Kat will help you grow your confidence in the saddle.
An experienced racehorse retrainer, (one who has actually worked in racing), and ridden thoroughbreds since the age of 10, Kat truly understands these wonderful horses’ needs and how to support rider and horse in the transition to their new careers. Many of Kat’s clients have ex-racehorses and highly recommend her ability to coach their often quirky personalities.
For beginner riders or horses, and for those more advanced in their work, Kat will build sessions tailored to your requirements. Kat’s jump coaching uses the fundamentals of dressage training to ensure the basics are correct.
Working with exercises over poles, Kat will help you and your horse develop balance, suppleness, and confidence to support your dressage and jumping development. This is a great way to have fun with your horse and provide a varied training routine.
As with jump training, Kat’s sessions are designed to build confidence, working with both horse and rider to ensure safe and effective riding is developed.
For Cross Country coaching sessions, the venue hire is to be booked and paid for by the client.
If you wish to make your sessions more affordable, you can book a group lesson with your friends. These can be in flatwork, polework, gridwork or jumping.
3-4 riders per 1-hour session.
Kat runs informal day camps that include test riding, group and individual training, and end with a fun competition. These events are run in small groups and at affordable prices. Bring your friends for a fun day out with your horse.
Ride a competition dressage test, be filmed and have it marked. Kat will then coach you to improve your marks, providing tips and advice. You can then re-ride your test with it being marked and filmed again.
45-minute session (includes filming and test sheets).

Kat has experience in training carriage driving horses in dressage for competition and developing the horses’ way of going. By using the principles of dressage training, Kat transfers this knowledge and experience to improving the dressage of carriage horses.
If you want help warming up at events, Kat either attends in person or delivers video-call warm-ups. This has worked exceptionally well at championships and is a great way to have your coach in your ear before you enter the competition arena.
