Pony Club and Riding Club Coach

Kat is an approved coach for the Pony Club and is regularly seen coaching at pony club rallies, camps and riding club events across the Southwest counties.

What Does Your Riding Lesson Include?

  • Kat is fully insured as an equestrian coach.
  • Price includes travel to your own location or a venue booked by you.
  • Please have your own insurance for riding, such as a BHS membership.

Individual and Block Bookings Available

All equestrian riding lessons, training sessions and clinics are available to be to be booked as single bookings or booked in blocks.

No Arena or School, No Problem!

Menage venue hire is available at Hayswood Equestrian near Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire.

If you have a suitable flat field, depending on the weather and ground conditions.

Beginners lessons for those without their own horse

Kat coaches for Hayswood Equestrian, which was founded in 2002. The riding stables have a wide range of horses & ponies for all ages and abilities. The riding school is ‘Fully Licensed’ and insured, and has experienced British Horse Society (BHS) qualified instructors and staff at all times.

Dressage Coaching & Flatwork Sessions

Master the fundamentals or refine your technique with Kat’s considerate and sympathetic approach. Whether you are starting your dressage journey or moving up the levels, Kat will plan your progress with you and your horse or pony.

For those wishing to train or school their horses at a more advanced level, Kat competes at advanced medium level dressage and trains above this. She has competed in Eventing and Showjumping to 120cm and trained riders competing to this level.

Returning to Riding Lessons / Nervous Rider Lessons

If you wish to get back to riding after a break (no matter how long this has been), lessons can be arranged on the awesome horses and ponies at Hayswood Equestrian.

Understanding how nerves and confidence affect your riding ability, Kat is well-placed and experienced in supporting nervous riders. With an empathetic, considered and encouraging coaching style, Kat will help you grow your confidence in the saddle.

Retraining of Racehorses

An experienced racehorse retrainer, (one who has actually worked in racing), and ridden thoroughbreds since the age of 10, Kat truly understands these wonderful horses’ needs and how to support rider and horse in the transition to their new careers. Many of Kat’s clients have ex-racehorses and highly recommend her ability to coach their often quirky personalities.

For beginner riders or horses, and for those more advanced in their work, Kat will build sessions tailored to your requirements. Kat’s jump coaching uses the fundamentals of dressage training to ensure the basics are correct.

Polework Session

Working with exercises over poles, Kat will help you and your horse develop balance, suppleness, and confidence to support your dressage and jumping development. This is a great way to have fun with your horse and provide a varied training routine.

As with jump training, Kat’s sessions are designed to build confidence, working with both horse and rider to ensure safe and effective riding is developed.

For Cross Country coaching sessions, the venue hire is to be booked and paid for by the client.

Group Lessons

If you wish to make your sessions more affordable, you can book a group lesson with your friends. These can be in flatwork, polework, gridwork or jumping.

Dressage Day Camps

Kat runs informal day camps that include test riding, group and individual training, and end with a fun competition. These events are run in small groups and at affordable prices. Bring your friends for a fun day out with your horse.

Dressage Test Riding

Ride a competition dressage test, be filmed and have it marked. Kat will then coach you to improve your marks, providing tips and advice. You can then re-ride your test with it being marked and filmed again.
